ranked by Forbes. They include student experience, quality of education, and how much the students/school achieve i.e. faculty awards etc. They listed 610 schools, and WESTERN ranked 575.
Another "ranking" that places WESTERN with other schools. Forbes gives a complete review of their analysis and criteria at their site. As with previous ranks I have shared, it isn't perfect, but, something that is made public for students and parents to view. Schools that rank high, use it for marketing. Those who rank low usually ignore the rankings.

Took a look at the list! Illinois state is 446, Iowa State is 563, and the Milwaukee School of Engineering is 569 just 6 in front of WIU. I don't mind being mentioned in this at all. There are a whole lot of colleges and universities that did not make the list.

Actually, I agree. This ranking has put WESTERN in a better light than some others. I only put these on to demonstrate some type of perception that might be out there regarding WIU when comparing to other schools. It'snot meant to be judgemental, only to share what others are saying about the school.
I believe WESTERN gained in the US News Report issue this year.

I did not think you were being judgemental at all!!! It's just another gauge on the dashboard. My sources say that WIU's freshmen enrollment is going to be up from last year, a great accomplishment when you consider the state of the nation. The attendance at the freshmen orientations was huge and very enthusiastic. I have always felt the Milwaukee School of Engineering was a high powered school. If they are at 569, I don't mind being mentioned and at 575. I took a good look for EIU? Are they listed? Just feel like the cloud that hung so heavy over WIU last year has lifted and we are on our way once again. Memorial Hall will finally be open on October 8th after the delay caused by the construction strike! I hope its a nice night on September 2nd! My wife, daughter, and I will be at the Purdue game! I think they are also coming down for Homecoming! SigKaps and Chi Omegas will be tailgating! Hope 101 is in the vicinity also!
