Anyone heard anything about potential signings for Women's Basketball? In the fall early signing period we got the 6-3 kid from Indiana (Rachel Evans), but I haven't heard anything since.
I know Lunden Roberts and Marina Hartman won't be back for their sophomore year, and of course Lyndi Thorman left at the end of Fall Semester, and Jordan O'Brien and Ashley Lord graduated.
The 2010-11 roster shows 8 returning players, plus Rachel Evans makes 9. That still leaves 5 scholarships to recruit with.

| I think they have a couple of juco commits, but probably waiting to get everybody signed before releasing all the names at once. Plus, add LaParis Newsom to the list of those freshmen not coming back which is actually no surprise due to lack of playing time.

Thanks for the update Arlen54. LaParis' playing time had begun to increase at the end of the year, but you're right, it was still minimal.
Well, that's 3 frosh from last year gone and leaving, at least so far, 3 who are returning: Christina Jones, Jackie Rieger, and Michelle Salvatori.
I wonder why they want to wait and announce them all together. I notice that Coach Mo released his as he got them signed. Doing so helps keep us believing he is making progress. Not hearing, as in Coach Crane's case, makes us wonder what is really happening.

| Not sure why exactly. Sometimes that's just a coach's preference to release all at once...sometimes not. By the way, add one more of those not returning although this one really can't be pinned on Coach Crane. Annaloes Kodde is returning home to the Netherlands for good at the end of this school year. I spoke with Annaloes and she said it was due to academic and financial reasons. She wants to teach elementary education, but for some reason, she discovered that a lot of her transcripts/credits over here were not going to transfer to a university in her native country or something to that effect. Plus, she said her dad has been umemployed for a couple of years and the financial burden of going back and forth for her and her family was becoming a burden. Hate to see her leave. She was a great role model for being a student-athlete. Good kid who would help the program next season. I wish her nothing but the best.

| I too will miss Anneloes. She was wonderful person and truly seemed like a lot of the glue holding the team together. Her absence will truly be missed. I wish her and her family the best.

| We will definitely see how well Crane and staff can recruit with only 6, at last count, returning players. One signee noted in the fall give us 7, leaving 7 total full scholarship slots to fill.

News has it that sometime next week we are supposed to finally hear about the recruiting results for women's basketball.
I can only say, damn well better be good. And Crane sure has enough open slots with only 6 max returners and a total of 14 or 15 scholarships for women's basketball.
