I agree ladyneck. They've canceled today's game against Bradley but it just adds to what's already been a rough year, losing Coach Hyman, struggling on the field, and now the death of a teammate on top of looming finals

My prayers are with all affected.

Just terrible news, will be very hard for the team the rest of the year. Thoughts and prayers go out to the family and his teammates.

I am truly saddened by this news! I can't imagine how tough this must be for his family.

I am not a big fan of motorcycles! I lost two friends at different times but at the same intersection (Bonkowski and Route 31) in the 70's and a gentleman who had just retired from my high school was killed in the same exact way just two years ago. The problem as it appears here, is not with the motorcyclist, but with the driver of the suv. Probably was not paying attention. No helmet also means no protection.

This is just horrible news for a program already saddened by the loss of Coach Hyman. This whole year has been a struggle from the get go. I will keep Devin and his family in my prayers.

Along with many others today, I was shocked and saddened with the news of Devin's passing. I had followed him through his high school career and was happy to see him developing as a D-I pitcher at WIU. I had spoken with him briefly just after the game last night...Another example of not taking anything for granted in this life and to cherish every moment with friends and loved ones. Makes a lot of the 'problems' at WIU seem very miniscule right now.

He had a helmet, but as a responsible driver had given it to his passenger to were - she survived. If only he'd had 2 helmets.

Lady that hit him was 27 and had 3 passengers in the car - all uninjured (from Quincy Herald Whig report).

My thoughts and prayers go out To Danny, Susie, and his brother along with all of Devon's extended family and friends. What an amazing pitcher and young man.
