I am genuinely excited about the scrimmage at NN this coming weekend. I think its a great idea! Really makes the Purple and Gold more visible in an area where a great number of students and athletes come from. John Passaneiti (sp) was instrumental in helping this to happen in conjunction with the all leatherneck social. I am planning to attend both.
Has any body taken a look at the number of athletes that have left the program this year? That seemed to be a concern to a lot of people in the late fall and especially during our discussion about DP and MH's hiring. Anybody been out to practice to see if anything has changed? I guess I will let you know what I think after Saturday.

ps. For as much criticism as the athletic department seems to get on this board, the NN scrimmage seems to be a great idea. A positive and creative step forward for the entire program. I will have more to say on this later. Of course, I am once again guilty of being way to positive about things.

| I think it is a good idea also, it really wouldn' t do them much good to have in Macomb how many local people are really excited about the spring game. I hope they move it around the state and maybe they can look at having something in the Quad Cities. Coach Casey twitted about the Augustana coaches are in Macomb, so maybe they could hold a scrimmage at Augie one year.

| My mistake, I thought this was replacing the spring game. Anyway it still is a good idea.

| Can anybody tell me who was kicking the ball in today's game at Naperville? The reason I ask, is that according to the April 9th issue of the Macomb Journal newspaper, our Parade All-American High School kicker from Prattville, Al. was arrested at 1:10am thursday for manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance. If true, I hope our AD does the right thing and sends the little a-hole back to where he belongs! It is sad/bad enough that we are currently 1 and ******* 10 we don't need this!

I'm guessing you mean Brian Egan who was in Coach P's last recruiting class (http://www.goleathernecks.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=12000&ATCLID=3667200).
Odd that I don't see him listed on the 2009 FB roster (http://www.goleathernecks.com/SportSelect.dbml?SPSID=50027&SORT_ORDER=2&PRINTABLE_PAGE=&SPID=4963&DB_OEM_ID=12000&Q_SEASON=2009). He was listed as a newcomer in the media guide on page 60 (http://www.wiuathletics.com/fls/12000/mediaguides/football/2009/5-players.pdf?SPID=4963&DB_OEM_ID=12000)
According to the March 23rd article in the Macomb Journal (http://www.mcdonoughvoice.com/sports/x1664772479/Leathernecks-spring-into-action he was supposed to return for the 2010 campaign: "Brian Egan struggled during his freshman year, making 2-of-8 field goals but did convert all 20 of his extra point attempts. Charlie Jouett returns for his senior year and the two will compete for the starting job this spring."
But, he isn't listed on the 2010 FB roster (http://www.goleathernecks.com/SportSelect.dbml?SPSID=50027&SORT_ORDER=2&PRINTABLE_PAGE=&SPID=4963&DB_OEM_ID=12000&Q_SEASON=2010).
Another odd disappearing act without any indication of why on the Leatherneck website??

Press release says Charlie Jouett was the kicker: "During more special teams drills, senior Charlie Jouett was perfect on all field goal attempts from 20-yards out, and from either side of the hashmarks into a stiff wind."

Any news on the Leatherneck football front? Any other guys not coming back? Any other new additions?
Also, whatever happened to Teague Dentino? He was one of the more promising younger players, he is on the roster but hasn't played in quite a while.

I believe Teague is slated as a starting DE in the Spring Two Deep. Don't know what happened last year. Could have been an injury, but like in the past nothing was ever mentioned on the website.
It looks like they're starting to include more information, but I'd like to know when a player leaves, is ineligible for the year, if they're hurt, or just more info during and after the season.
I know we're not a DI powerhouse school, but most seem to keep fans updated. I know sometimes it's not good press so they just avoid, but let the fans know.

| Read in the QC Times today, that WIU will probably hold a scrimmage in Rock Island next year. Rocky football coach is hoping they hold a regular season football game there, but TVA said not going to happen, although they are looking at holding a basketball game at the Mark.
