Thanks for the insight ladyneck02. And greater strength development is certainly needed.

Strength training is very important, I agree. Why hasn't a serious commitment to weight training been stressed before? BTW, I've heard two of this year's freshman have already been taken off the roster. Check out the 2010-2011 roster posted on the web page if you doubt me. Anyone seen any press releases on these defections/cuts? Put two more notches on the stick. What does that take us too in the last 5 years?

LokalYokal,

Crane doesn't believe in strength training, only conditioning. Heck, kids are doing more lifting in high school than they do under her tutelage.

I'm not surprised that we lost 2 freshman. I heard Lunden Roberts is planning on transferring elsewhere. Don't know about Marina Hartman. It would be interested to know if they both decided to leave or if Crane decided not to renew one or both scholarships. NCAA scholarships are yearly renewals in case you weren't aware, with the renewal entirely up to the Coach/School. They can't drop a scholarship due to injury, but can if they want to for pretty much any reason. When student-athletes sign letters of intent, they are committing to the school (actually not the program) for 1 year in exchange for a 1 year scholarship.

4 gone so far. Lunden Roberts, Marina Hartman, LaParis Newson, and Annaloes Kodde.

That leaves 6 returning players and the one 6-3 recruit out of Indiana. That makes a team of 7.

Supposedly there are a couple of Juco transfers that have signed, but don't know for sure or any details, but there's still a ton of recruiting room left.

Given that only 6 are returning, leaving 8 slots for recruiting, this will certainly be a measure of Cranes recruiting ability.

Now that's an interesting way to show how well you can recruit. But Carly Simon's "Your so Vain" pretty much describes the Coach Cranes. They undoubtedly think nothing is their fault. So much for accepting responsibility for your actions, the type of message I know I try to ensure my kids learn.
