It sounds like Mark and staff are up and running with recruits. Of the three on campus last week, sources indicate that two have verbally committed to WIU already. One is a 5-9, 195 lb. redshirt-freshman running back from Michigan State who was rated among the nation’s top running backs by Rivals.com (No. 43), Scouts, Inc. (No. 65) and Scout.com (No. 87) as a high school senior. SIU is recruiting him heavily as well. The other is a juco from California. The corner from Kentucky is a highly-sought high school senior and will probably weigh his options before deciding. Four O-linemen were on campus this past weekend on visits and I think there are 5 or 6 players from the west coast lined up for future visits. Let's hope for the best!

That's great to hear!

Was hoping he was hitting the ground running and trying to get some blue chippers in here. This team definitely needs a huge infusion of talent.

Hopefully Coach Hendrickson can get the job done.

Thanks for the update!

Joe C.

Arlen, thanks for the recruiting news. Keep them coming if possible.

There are some players leaving Illinois, any chance they might head to Western.

A very informative article about the individual accomplishments of the football program with a reminder that Spring Ball will start in March. Seems to me that the football program is aggressively putting things in a positive spin. Take a look at the Twitter page of Coach Casey and you will get a really positive vibe about recruiting! Its really refreshing for a change!

Is the Michigan State kid a transfer? I looked at their roster and they are stacked to the gills with RB's. Not surprising to see one would leave in search of playing time. Let's keep the recruiting process rolling!

The kid from Michigan State is Caulton Ray and he is transferring. He is no longer listed on the roster, but is in their media guide. He has only verballed from what I hear, so let's hope he gets enrolled soon before somebody changes his mind (like SIU!)...

Haven't read his comments JC. I'm not a Twitter guy. I've only seen Tom once since he returned from the West Coast. I do know they seem to be beating the bushes everywhere for recruits to come in and play right away next season.
