I didn't know if anyone had heard anything about who we may be considering.
I personally would like to see an assistant coach from a top tier program, regardless of where that would be.

| Has anybody heard anything about this or are we going to wait until a week before practice starts to name a head coach.

I have heard 80 candidates have applied. heard an outstanding Coach who coached 4 of our recruits applied, but will not be considered due to not having a Master's degree even though he had Coached at Georgetown University in the past. Is the master's degree requirement a WIU requirement or a D-1 requirement of coaches ? If this person is the best candidate, would hate to see him eliminated just because he doesn't have a master's degree.

| A Master's Degree is now a requirement for all WIU head coaching positions. I've heard the list has been narrowed down to three candidates.

I would imagine that coaches need to be able to teach a subject and the Master's will allow them to serve that role without a PhD! It makes sense too because the coaching stipend along with the teaching assignment means $$$$! This will be an interesting hire!
