I think the coaching staff at Indiana State is doing it the right way and building from the bottom up! The roster is filled with frosh, frosh redshirts, and sophomores. A couple of seniors and junior are listed also. He's an Indiana State alum who did a stint at Notre Dame and Washington. It all just takes time and energy.
101, I liked the tri color uni's too. If you look at the 106th article on the captains, one of the pictures has a player in the purple helmet, white jersey, purple pants. Just not the same AFAIC! I wonder what happened to the gold pants?
You continue to carry this board on your back. I am again here to help!

This had to be a very disappointing game for Indiana State.
But it is a great victory for a Tri-State University!!
From the Quincy University website:
HAWKS UPROOT SYCAMORES!!
(Terre Haute, Ind.) The Quincy University football team started their 2009 season off with a bang, upsetting NCAA FCS (I-AA) opponent Indiana State University 26-20 in overtime. The Hawks trailed 17-0 to start the game but their defense shut down the Sycamores after the first quarter, allowing the offense to chop away at the Sycamore lead.
On the opening kickoff Indiana State showed a glimpse of what would be their undoing in the game, fumbling the ball on the return and giving Quincy the ball at the 20-yard line to start the game. Quincy however was unable to take advantage of the miscue, going for it on fourth down and handing the ball back over to Indiana State. Indiana State took their next drive down 52-yards before Quincy was able to hold them to a field goal as Indiana State took the 3-0 lead. A Quincy fumble at the nine yard line gave the Sycamores a prime opportunity and they took advantage, scoring on a 5-yard pass from Chris Stutziem to Ryan Roberts to take a 10-0 lead. The Sycamores added another score just four-minutes later when Darrius Gates threw a half-back pass for a 75-yard score to Bryant Kent to take a 17-0 lead after one quarter of play.
The Hawks got on the board early in the second quarter when Alex Beard capped a 72-yard drive with a 22-yard field goal. The Hawk offense was sparked by Dustin Jacoby, who started the game at wide receiver and moved to the quarterback position. Jacoby scrambled for 28 yards in addition to completing a 24 yard pass to Kyle Volstad to keep the drive alive. The Hawks defense shutout the Sycamores in the second quarter as Quincy went into halftime down 17-3.
The Hawks cut into the Sycamore lead at the 10:12 mark of the third quarter when Beard connected on his second field goal of the game, this time a 30-yarder to make the score 17-6. The Hawk defense again held Indiana State scoreless in the quarter, setting up a thrilling fourth quarter.
Quincy opened the fourth quarter with the ball inside the Indiana State 20-yard line and needed just three plays to get their first touchdown of the game. Sam Donatucci rolled to his left and found an open Tyler Truttmann in the end zone for the Hawks first touchdown of the season. The Hawks went for the two point conversion and were successful, cutting the score to 17-14 with 14:09 to play. Indiana State extended their lead with 8:35 left in the game on a 27-yard field goal, making the score 20-14.
Quincy would not go away quietly however, getting the ball back with just over two and a half minutes left in the game. The Hawks moved the ball downfield and tied the game up on a one-yard run by Donatucci with just 43-seconds left. The Hawks were called for a false start on the extra point, negating the kick, and then missed their second attempt keeping the game tied at 20-20. The two teams would go into overtime, marking the second overtime game in their last three games dating back to last season for Quincy.
Indiana State won the toss and elected to take the ball in overtime but saw their miscues come back to haunt them. A fumbled ball resulted in a nine-yard loss for the Sycamores and set up a second and long situation. Another bad snap sent the ball over the quarterbacks head as Corey Reidl quickly pounced on the ball giving Quincy possession. The Hawks needed just four plays to go 25-yards, with Donatucci reaching in from one yard out for the game winning score.
Donatucci finished the game 12-of-27 passing for 111 yards and one touchdown while adding two scores on the ground. Corey Williams led Quincy in rushing with 59 yards while Mark Harris had a team high 43 yards receiving on four catches. Nate Toole led Quincy with 11 tackles, including five for loss with one sack. Quincy improves to 1-0 on the season and is in action again next Thursday when they face Missouri State University at 6 p.m. in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Let's Go WESTERN !!
