So, I really don't get it. Last year we basically heard little or nothing about baseball recruiting and this year its all that we read on the WIU athletic site. I know that the stats of each kid are really being sold to us, but how good are these guys?
Any thoughts?

Once again we have no recruits from the Peoria or Springfield areas. The Peoria Journal Star all area team was in the paper today and not one of these kids is attending WIU. We do get guys from five other states. Based on our budget size, I can virtually guaranty you that Hyman never seen half of these kids play, and is basing his evaluation on the word of others. We get three kids from Black Hawk College, a below average program. We get four transfers from UNI, two of which have ERA's over 6.0 and a corner infielder who hit one home run.
The JUCO route and taking out of state kids by word of mouth has been an absolute failure for our program to date. The guy has yet to have a player drafted. He's a poor judge of talent and a bad recruiter. I have little confidence that they will be any better than last year.
