Two more players signed today to play baseball at WIU and these two athletes have very impressive stats! The other Juco kid Hyman signed, the pitcher from Lake County also has impressive stats. Add to that the kids from UNI and I think the baseball team is again headed in the right direction. I just can't help to think that some of the scholarships from swimming are being applied to baseball. I know swimming was cut for $ reasons which means no more travel costs, coaching salaries, and such, but I just have to think that men's baseball has gotten more scholarships to work with!
Last year I questioned why two pitchers from a mediocre team were recruited! Now I want to make sure that I point out that I really think the kids he is recruiting will be able to play!

Most definitely hope it's good talent!
Especially in the pitching department. Where it was truly beyond brutal last season.
So hopefully Stan can get them turned around.

I do not think WIU gets as good of players as a few schools in our 90 mile radius. Sad that Bradley, QU, and Culver Stockton would likely beat us consistantly.
I hope these players under all the drama are able to produce and show they are quality D1 athletes. We will see, I know I will cheer for them.
WIU Athletes work hard to represent the University and Macomb. Regardless of any comment I make on a topic I want to affirm my support. Go Leathernecks....

I was speaking to the drama within athletics..... Giving scholarships from swim and then taking them away. The issues some of the players have from UNI where their programs was dropped. Not having a set coach regardless of the reasons. Having Coach Bainter as the glue that kept things together only to know he would likely be sent out once a new coach was hired. That is called drama.
In regards to losing our past coach I have no interest in talking about what happened. Nobody should have to pass that young and leave their kids and wife hurting. When I wrote that it wasn't on my mind. I leave those sensitive issues to people that know Stan and his family.... Not me.
Maybe you should think better of people. You don't hear me talking about why WIU struggled in the past.
