Leatherneck Nation,
I am here to tell you that Chad Sprayberry is the real deal.At 6'3 230lbs and growing.I have been around alot of football players and there is know who hits harder works harder. He will be a early impact player no redshirt here.Western I believe he is the best true middle linebacker in the state. This is the type of kid you want to represent your program.

I like his size for an incoming freshman and if he is a legit 4.75, that's all promising. College football will make him faster. A good student to boot. I read somewhere that he was at the ISU game for a visit with them when WIU pummeled them. He'll make a good Leatherneck.

I was at that ISU game last year. I was pretty high on life about our season. (then the wheels fell off)

That is awesome that he was at ISU when we played them and he decided to go with us. I consider ISU our biggest rival. I don't know what is is with ISU, but, it seems like we always have their number! Now if we could just figure out how to beat SIU (oh the one we gave them last year hurt bad).

The SIU game was a prime example of just how good the WIU defense is/can be. SIU put up some major points last year until that game and then continued to do so a little bit in games after that. Take out the WIU game and they average 40 pts/game.

Hey Pit: So if our D was that good at shutting down the SIU O, then why did we get beat? i.e., did we have some key players that were hurt? or did our players fail to excute the plays called? In other words, what do YOU think happened? Thanks!

I think our very good kicker Rowan had an off day Missed Two field goals, either one of those would have won the game. One of the missed field goals was a chip shot. Also, there was a botched snap/hold for an extra point, Had we made that we would have at least gone into overtime and had a good chance to win it there. but, alas, it was not to be.
