Senior Gina Hugelier tallied a team-high 19 points and added 10 rebounds in the Western Illinois women’s basketball team’s 60-46 victory over Oral Roberts at the Mabee Center!!

Great job Westerwinds!! I listened to part of the game, but then had to leave, so I was glad to see when I got home that they had won. This gives them a big leg up in the conference race, but there is a lot of games to be played also. I am especially happy because I think the ORU coach is jerk, maybe its just me but he seems to come off as one. Anyway goob job Coach Crane and staff and keep up the good work ladies.

Here's hoping Crane & Co. can win the conference-tourney too- and get back into the NCAA tourney. When did they qualify- four years ago??

Wished it was only 4 years ago, but it was before Crane came to WIU. More like 13 years ago I think. I just remember O.B. being the star on the team.

I think the Winds went to the NCAA Tournament in 1995 (the 1994-95 season). I remember that they played in a Regional in North Carolina.

Oberion Pitterson ("OB") was one of the stars.

The coach was Regina Miller (the coach before Coach Crane).

Coach Crane is now in her 9th season at WESTERN.

Coach Crane must like it at WESTERN. I believe with the success she has had here, other opportunities must have opened up for her. I hope she stays as long as she wants. She has done a great job -IMHO

I would like to see them get over the conference tourney "jinx", and qualify for the NCAA tourney.

I believe that the only D1-men's BB team-in Illinois to never qualify for the "big dance" is WESTERN.Even eastern accomplished that several years ago. I don't believe DT has that in him-IMHO. A change is necessary to get to that level.

I appreciate what Coach crane has accomplished while at WIU, but until she can guide a team into the NCAA she will be still at WIU.

I thought the program might be in trouble after Regina Miller left, but coach Crane has done even better, in my opinion.
