It was a battle of the Sutton brothers. Younger brother Scott of Oral Roberts beat his brother's (Sean) Oklahoma State team, 74-59.
Looks like Oral Roberts will be tough in the Summit.

The WESTERN men actually played a competitive game with Oakland. It was the loudest crowd yet so far this season. One of the largest crowds as well.
Traditionally, our largest crowds usually are for the games with Oral Roberts which will be Feb 14th (men) and Feb 18th (women). The Feb 18th game will also be Senior Night for the Winds, and the last basketball game at home for both teams. We finish on the road for the last 2 weekends.
It was the Westerwinds that got "b-slapped" by Oakland. They fell behind 13-0 and never recovered. The men played well.
I would look for Dr Van Alstine to renew Derek's contract based on the product we have seen this season.

WIU712: Pardon me if I puke after reading your remarks. Largest crowd of the year ???? How can you call less than a 1000 a large crowd. High School Girl's games in West Central IL. draw larger crowds than attend WIU games for a "lot less expense" than WIU also. Get real, how can we keep a coach who has such a major losing record ??? I do concede that this year's team plays hard and better than 3 out of the previous 4 years Derek has been at WIU, but come on..... How can you spout such stuff as raucous, big crowd and Derek should be retained. When we ever get a raucous, big crowd at WIU again, I hope you bring your ear plugs so you will be able to survive the noise.
