I am proud to say that I have a couple of cans of beans in a sack and JC will be in the house tomorrow night at Western Hall. I really think there is going to be a big crowd! My wife and I were just talking about how much fun it was in the early 70's to go to Western football games. Being a part of the crowd of 19880 at Hanson is something I will never ever forget. The hillside at the south end was filled with people!

My daughter received a text from the university about the game even though she graduated in 2009, so they are really getting after it.

Seal, thanks for the pics of the Chantileer facility. Alot of D1 schools play in facilities like that still. Should be alot of fun!

You know, I love football, but the fact that we have a "season" going finally brings back all those memories of following UCLA as a kid! Never forget when UCLA was upset by HOuston in the Astro-dome, the game was not televised live but replayed after. I was a sophomore in high school at that point and just loved the game. UCLA had a left-handed T bone shooter called Lynn Shackleford along with Lew A! Just a magical time. If tomorrows crowd is big, the same thing will happen! Magic!

This is an interesting read while we wait for the games tomorrow.

It's about Duke--yes Duke--not being able to get students to go to games. It says that on average only 650 undergrads attend home games! Any thoughts or ideas on this?

Friday's "Western Courier" had a big, full-page ad about Saturday's double-header games on page 3.

The bottom page of the ad had:

THINK PURPLE

THINK LEATHERNECKS

THINK WESTERN

Let's Go WESTERN!!

The same full-page ad is on the back page of Saturday's Macomb newspaper.

So the University has really been promoting this game. I'm hoping for a big and noisy crowd.

Let's Go WESTERN!!

Wow! Kudos to Remy for hitting that shot....and Ceola for getting that pass to him through the double-team. It looked like a packed crowd got to see a stunning game-winner.
