No, I don't think so. The tournament is co-sponsored by Macomb High School and Western Illlinois University. I think the NCAA concern is with games sponsored by outside sources and played at a college or university.

That's thing has been around so long the "grandfather" clause surely kicks in. This is total dumb thinking by NCAA. State championships are held at university facilities because they are usually first-class and NCAA seems to look the other way. Sounds like some NCAA people have too much time on their hands IMO.

The Macomb-Western Holiday Tournament is safe and sound!
The problem with that Peoria Shoot-out was that it was organized and managed by Bleid Sports of Kentucky instead of a local high school.
The Holiday Tournament in Macomb is organized and hosted by Macomb High School. So there will be no problems with our holiday tournament.
Bradley University will be the site of the annual River City Shoot-out on January 16. That shoot-out is permissible under NCAA rules since it will be organized and hosted by Peoria Manual and Peoria Central High Schools.
Let's Go WESTERN!!
