ISU's Hancock Stadium will actually only seat 6,500 for the 2012 season. The finished product won't be ready until 2013.
YIKES! They need to find an alternative place to play in 2012. I was at our game there on November 5th, and they were selling standing room tickets.
Seating capacity there this year was 8,500. So it will be 2,000 less next year.
Let's Go WESTERN!!

Sounds like it will be a BYOLF (Lawn Furniture) affair in 2012. That's the way I like to watch all outdoor sports.

| Yeah, that's what I was thinking when told, had to ask again to confirm. The entire east side will be eliminated. The capacity when WIU was there was at 9,500, and it will be 6,500 for the entire 2012 season. Sure it will stink for a year, but its worth it for the end product.

Is there anything that can be started on the West Side even if we don't have the 30million in place yet. Is there not some staggered improvements we can start on. I was under the impression that we were half way to our goal. Gosh, I would think 15 Million dollars might go a long way to getting things going on the West Side of Shame.
Seriously, ask anyone associated with WIU, the West Side is a source of embarrasment and shame.
WIU finishes last two of the last three years and arguably has the worst stadium in he MVFC, this is heartbreaking for us diehard 'Neck fans and for the proud legacy of Leatherneck football.
What happens when nobody comments on the boards anymore and nobody goes to the games? That is what happend at ISUblue it took them 12 years to dig themselves out of that hole.
Is WIU headed in the same dirrection? It would appear that we are. Look at attendance this year.

West side repairs must be made if we are to continue using the original 1950 grandstand next year.
If nothing new is coming soon, we will need to fix up what we have just to keep it functional.
