Senior member of the track & field team Jenna Verity has become Western's first Rhodes Scholarship finalist. This is a huge honor for not only her, but the University as well. To have her name in the mix with students from Harvard, Stanford, Yale, etc. is quite an honor. She will interview later this week for a chance to win the scholarship.
The scholarship includes a year studying at Oxford University after graduation and is reserved for only the brightest students. Again, this is not only great for her, but Western as well. Good luck to her!

I had a problem editing a post I made last week! I contacted ST and he told me that it has happened a couple of times before. What a wonderful accomplishment for this young lady. We have alot to be proud of as WIU alumni!
