There you have it. Enough said. I hope they get it done. I think the WIU players did get a little time to mingle with the Rams and get some tips before the Rams would head back.

Good stuff PIT. Yeah, I just put on the first of the season application of "stuff" on my lawn. If it dosen't look better than last year I am getting an estimate for asphalt.

I like your Ideas about the turf. I wouldn't be surpirsed if it cost more than 2 big ones though. Have to tear out old, put in a drainage system and a foundation for the whole deal before even getting into the turf.

For those that like stats. (I do) and for those sports fans who are superstiteous (most) check this out.

When the Rams were here from 1995-2003 WIU accomplished the following:

Just One losing season in nine years

Nine year record of 76-33

Five FBS wins

Six time playoff qualifier

Since the Rams have left 2003-2007

Three loosing seasons out of four

Four year record of 20-24

No FBS wins

No playoffs

I am not sure but if the crabgrass comes back this year, I will be getting an estimate for my yard. Seriously, I've heard at least a million. They've talked about making the future building to the north of Hanson being a year round type facility. The turf would make it more functional. I just think over time it might be worth it. I have no idea what it costs to maintain the current field. I've heard that the 3D stuff practically grows in front of you because it looks so real. I would be willing to bet that the Athletic Dept. has priced it or at least thought about it. What's another million bucks on top of the 5 mill just spent and the 15 mill in the works. It would be nice if the Rams set some sort of 5 year deal, then the City of Macomb can start chipping in to make it happen since the Rams bring so much money to the town. Who knows? I sure don't and always talk out my a$$ without really knowing anything. Remember, I wanted Coors to contribute to the West Side because of the amount of Keystone consumed down there. Time to hit up every former player again like what was done for the training facility.

I stand corrected, that stuff has the tire fill. I think this is the product that doesn't require it and plays like natural grass.

I saw the article in the WC about a major selling point being the Rams record while they were at WIU and what it became once they left. Well, I think Warner, Bruce, Faulk etc. being at the top of their game may have had a little do do with it. What does everyone think the pros of returning to Macomb are? If I remember right, it sounded like a college in Wisconsin had a good shot and I read the HC wants to be able to scrimmage against more teams.

--WIU/City of Macomb know how to do this. They got plenty of experience and will probably be even better the second time around. The transition, one would expect to be fairly smooth.

--If they were to scrimmage at Hanson Field, obviously the facilities are better now. There has always been concerns about tearing up the field but this year, the marquee games don't come until October. I am all for this http://www.astroturfusa.com/product/gameday-grass.html. It would give the Rams/Necks the option to use a different surface. The Natty grass is great and unique to the Gateway but in the long run this stuff is the best. I don't think it has the ground up tires. Hanson would be more functional.

--Why would the fans from St. Louis and surrounding areas want to drive to Wisconsin?

--Macomb is far enough to get the players away from home but not too far.

--Macomb has "grown" slightly since their departure. In this, I mean a few more decent restaurants for the fans.

--More female students will stay for the summer.

Rams' officials will be at WIU on Wednesday, April 16 to check out the facilities after they have been in Wisconsin the following week checking out couple options. Good luck to WIU & Macomb on getting the Rams back. Still sounds like a long shot, but stranger things have happened.
