Herb Donaldson - RB Tennessee Titans (Practice Squad)
William James - DB San Francisco 49ers
Mike Scifres - P San Diego Chargers
Rich Seubert - G New York Giants
Jason Williams - OLB Carolina Panthers

I plan on trying to keep this thread updated each year with roster changes and significant performances/plays.
Such as:
Mike Scifres - Fake Punt/pass for 28 yards on November 22nd against Denver
David Bowens - Two INTs for TD on October 24th against New Orleans
Jason Williams - Forced fumble and recovery November 28th against Cleveland

I read in the Peoria Journal-Star that Mike Scifres has signed a 5-year extension of his contract to be the punter for the San Diego Chargers.

Hey I thought maybe there needed to be a thread to discuss what news people have gathered on the prospects of any of our guys playing football for $$$$$.

I want to know, and I guess I am putting my feelers out there, knowing that a lot of the posters in L-Nation may already be on top of whats going on......I am hoping to get some replies, if not I guess I can try to dig up the info the old fashioned way

Gotta think though with two National O and D runner-ups right there are two guys that might pique the interest of the NFL/CFL/AFL (I guess there is another start up league for former college studs that graduated, is that thing still making a go of it?).

Any thoughts L-Nation?

Just getting this one started, I'll do some more research and put down anyone else that I find soon.

Gene Lamont - Played for the Detroit Tigers, managed the White Sox and Pirates, currently 3rd Base coach for the Tigers.

Rick Short - Played 11 seasons in the minor leagues and one in Japan before playing his first game in the major leagues in 2005. He then played 4 more seasons in Japan. He played in 11 major league games, with a .400 batting average (6/15), and played in 1290 minor league games with a career .317 batting average. He is currently a scout for the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Leathernecks in Women's Professional Sports

I did some checking around on the websites of the WNBA, LPGA, National Pro Fastpitch League (Softball), Women's Pro Soccer League, and Independent Women's Football League (Tackle Football), but I didn't find anyone from Western currently playing in any of those leagues.
I know that in the past we've had a couple of women who have competed at the next level in a few sports; for example, there was 1 (maybe 2) softball players that played for a bit in the Pro Fastpitch Leage.

Currently, the only ones that I am aware of are:
Tugba Palazoglu - played 1 season with the Chicago Blaze WNBA team, currently playing professional-level basketball in Turkey.
ChrisDell Harris - signed a contract with the Nike Developmental Team for Track. I haven't heard anything beyond the original press release from WIU, and wasn't able to find anything about the team online.

If anyone knows of any other Leatherneck Women's athletes who are competing at a professional level, please let me know so I can add them to the list.
