The Marshall movie is a great analogy. I watched the DVD The Final Season about the final season of baseball at Norway, IA last week. The final season they won their 20th state championship. The school was down to just over 100 students 9-12. Their coached stressed defense and fundamentals. Kind of like Coach Mo.

Coach Mo has really been scouring the countryside looking for players and coaches. Even though DT left with a number of freshmen recruits in the stable, their migration to other juco's or schools has definitely created a numbers problem. Finding assistants to help I am sure is tough too. I think the honey moon glow is over, and alot of work is ahead. But Coach Mo is a philisophically sound coach who will need our support especially in the early stages of foundation buillding! I know for a fact that he is on the job, working in an organized and thoughtful manner. There is just a long way to go.

Have you seen the "Marshall" movie? The coaching staff goes out and begins to recruit and as they get kids they put another line on the chalk board! Kind of a brick by brick visual! If I were Mo, I would do the same!!!

Heard Mo got his first committment from a 6'3" Guard from the State of Texas.

I would say his main assistant or associate head coach should have D1 experience, but after that I would like to see him name someone who is familiar with the area..ie Iowa, Illinois, Midwest in general.

He also sent a letter to all former basketball players. Matt Margenthaler and Todd Hutcheson told me they received a letter from Mo. I talked to Terry Carroll who now is the Head Coach at SCC in Burlington. His #2 Asst was interested in the job but Mo told him he wanted someone with some D1 experience. I am glad he is taking his time and selecting the "Right" Assistants that will fit with Mo and the program.

I heard from a couple of Necks who attended the All Leatherneck function at Hawthorne Park that Mo was a hit with all in attendence.

The letter was a nice touch, but doesn't recruit any players or get Asst.s hired. There should be some news don't you think ?????

Coach Molinari is starting to mend some of the broken fences.

Coach is sending out a letter to Western Athletic Club members to introduce himself and to build up some interest in the men's basketball program.

Looks like he is taking the necessary steps to bring the excitement back to Western Hall.
