They may be hung up on that part of the contract that states "when we fire you, we can fabricate a press release as to why you left." Or maybe the new guy learned what a disaster the department is and decided to coach flag football at the Y where his chances of winning would be much greater and his morals and integrity (assuming he has those) would remain intact.

I was told a couple of weeks ago that an official announcement would come around March 1. Not sure why (supposed I could have asked)...Possibly due to active contract wth previous employer...don't really know.

Hey Guys: While I appreciate all of the responses, the question has yet to be answered. Why has the "alleged" new OC aka Doug Ruse not been announced yet? What is going on ? For God's sake, you would think by now even the Courier might be "curious"? da.

I agree with Western-101, the website looks much better than it has in the past. New graphics and some other tweaks really make it visually appealing. The timing of this enhancement seems to coincide with the new SIDs arrival. Katie Kane is the MBB media contact, so that's why she is more visible and a Grad Asst is in charge of WBB. Whatever the structure is, keep the good stuff going. I dont care who is doing it as long as its done.

After J.K. left his post as SID for CMU the athletics Website here seemed to really suffer. I don't know who is updating it now but it is noticably better

Sorry jc, but in terms of basketball at best he lurked in the shadows. Look at the table, volunteers, graduate assistants, and student workers. Reports I received when asking who he was was met with only limited info and a lot of "I don't know." You'd think he's be visible - heck women's games only had 200+ fans. And Katie Kane was the obvious one as the men's games.

Baseball he does because that's his baby.

Oh no 56, he is not involved in anything, except interviewing coaches on Rocky Vision and broadcasting baseball games!!!! Nope, even though the Spring soccer schedule is out, the Fall volleyball schedule is out, and the website is filled with updated information he is not at all involved. Do you think anytime soon you might just be a little more positive, or are you stuck in "woa's me gear!"

'Neck 177: NOT FAIR! I was just getting ready to ask the same question. Our (alleged) new OC has been on campus for several weeks now and meets with the players on a daily basis. As was first reported here, his name is Doug Ruse and he hails from most recently Arkansas State. Why has there not been any mention of him by the AD or anyone else in Western Hall? What is up with our advertising/news people? Also, while on the subject of failing to provide minimal information concerning our team, I see where a scrimmage will be held in Chicago, but no details have been provided. Also, nothing has been released about a Spring Game - when and where will that be held? So many questions and so little information. Did we not hire a SID?

The new OC is already on campus, but an official announcement not coming till around March 1. Sworn to secrecy right now (more or less), but his former team's mascot(s) were the 'Red Wolves"....

I think it was down to two candidates...a guy from Kansas State and one from the staff of the Washington Redskins. Seen a man with Mark the last couple of days, but no names yet. Will try harder...

DC Tom Casey teased us last year with the prospects of having a defense. Yesterday he teased us again on Twitter by saying WIU had hired a new OC, but he did not say who it was. Does anyone know who are new OC is?
