I am not a big proponent of Western playing Quincy University this season. However, As 712 mentions in the Quincy area Western receives good coverage and there should be alot of local interest in Quincy seeing their local University battle the Regional D-1 university just an hour Northeast. I wouldn't be surpirsed to see a couple thousand from the Quincy area make the trip up for the WIU vs QU game.

Both Quincy TV stations (KHQA and WGEM) heavily promote WESTERN. Both stations are financial backers of athletics. And I think that they also contribute as corperate backers of the Bureau of Cultural Affairs (BCA).

Bloomington/Normal has its own morning paper (The Pantagraph). So that is why there isn't as much Illinois State coverage in the Peoria Journal Star.

Too bad Western is in the Quincy market not a dig on Quincy (which I think is a fine community) it's just not a big Market. I wish Western were in the Peoria Market for TV. Interresing Western is in the Peoria print meida market but ISU is not, and ISU is in the Peoria TV market but Western is not.

I think technically Western is also in the Quad Cities T.V. market. However Q.C. has only a passing interrest in Western at best. Quad Cities is a Iowa Hawkeyes town(s) that I would guess to be 70% saturation with 20% Illinois Illini Saturation and then 10% left for all the rest (WIU,UNI, Drake, ISUyellow,NIU,Augustana,St. Ambrose).

I need to ad that SIUC enjoys a lot of exposure in the St. Louis market. They seem to follow the Saluki.

WESTERN gets some play in the small Quincy market,also the Peoria market. Maybe the Quad Cities. Not much in the Chicagoland area, once in awhile.

I would say Youngstown would certainly receive a lot of exposure in a highly populated area and state. They always had a large following. Missouri State also receives a good amount of coverage from the St. Louis and KC.

The main difference - I see- is that the Dakota schools only have one D1 school in each state, and both states are sparsely populated. Many of the other MVFC schools are in heavily populated states- compared to the Dakota's. When you are the only show in town, you will garner the attention. As far as exposure in general- based on area populations and state populations, most ofthe MVFC schools coverage reaches a wider and more populated area. IMHO The Dakota schools have a good, strong fan base, that is very vocal. But it is an isolated area, wheras a lot of the other schools in the MVFC have a wide reach into heavily populated areas.

The Bison certainly play well up there to the very receptive Fargo market. I wish more Western games were televised. I would be curious to see which Gateway (sorry MVFC) team has the greatest amount of exposure. Sounds like it could be NDSU.

Hate to keep invading but, rumor in Bison land is there will be 7 games televised in 08, couple on FSN, Local NBC, and in the works for a ESPN 2 game. Could be the WIU game on FSN but don't take my word for it!!

The game with Northern Iowa had been scheduled for a 6:00PM kick-off.

That really seems to be a very late starting time for a game on November 1st. A game in November should not be starting that late. I see that our other two November games on the 15th and 22nd will be starting at 1PM.

Don't know about TV, but did hear the N. Iowa game start time has been changed from Night game to late afternnon start time.

Anybody out there have any information on what games we could expect to be televised this comming season? I know it is early but I like to put it on my calender.

I am hoping we can get three games on a FSM, Comcast, ESPNU, CSTV....
