They have been associated with the Big 8-now Big 12 for many, many years. However, there seems to be a lot of interest on their part for a switch. The Big 12 is more a geographic/west conference, and I think they consider themselves more MidWest. Academics has been mentioned for a long time. Missouri see's The Big 10 as a better fit academically for them. Being a long time Mizzou fan-even Big 8 days- I could support a switch. This from a long time Big 12 fan- I still believe the Big 12 is the best overall conference in the land, probably has to do with more where I live and see the news than anything else. KU is Missouri's only Big 12 school they have a lot in common with, also huge rivals. This could continue like Iowa Stae/Iowa each year too. Don't know if I could ever become a Big 10 fan- only Mizzou!!

Looks like something might happen next year. Illannoy Stae is only dreaming. They won't even win the Gateway this year-AGAIN.

RE: Big Ten expansion

I could see ISU going to the Mid American before the Big Ten. Just don't think the Big 10 would take a FCS school on its transition to D1. Missouri would be a nice fit! How about Iowa State? Guess that would be too much recruiting competition for the Hawkeyes but they really get a whole lot of players from the Chicago area!

Big Ten expansion

Looks like this might happen next year. Syracuse and Rutgers mentioned. Missouri has also been mentioned in the past. Believe it or not, some of the Illannoy State persuasion have said in the past they feel they might be ready for an opening in the Big Ten. I'm serious- fans, of course. Probably Denver dreaming and hoping.
