I do like the nickname the Jack rabbits but SDSU Blue Hat Men sounds more intimidating.

RE: South Dakota State

western-101 (4/21/2008)
Thanks for the info Bluehat. Time will tell how the situation ends up.

RE: South Dakota State

Is Scott Nagy feeling heat at SDSU?

RE: South Dakota State

I've been kinda busy, but I've still snooped around here lately.

First, congrats on the great basketball hiring. We just lost our head and assistant volleyball coaches this past month to other schools (Washington State-head coach and Drake-assistant coach). We're definately hurting there.

Scouting reports eh

Football: Several big holes to fill(3 of our players have the potential to be drafted next weekend). Lots of good vibes coming from our football team. We return our starting QB and our big receiver - Harris. We will be good again I believe. We just can't start the season 0-3 for the 3rd season in a row.

Volleyball: Not going to be easy for the Jacks. Lost our 4 star seniors to graduation, but bringing back a couple key players. If we compete, it won't be a miracle but it also won't be easy.

Soccer: I think Western and us will fight all season long for the top spot in the conference. Oakland will be in the background trying to make some noise. We bring in an impressive class and already have 5 committed for 2009.

Women's Basketball: The Jacks lost two contributing players but bring in an impressive class of recruits. South Dakota's all time leading scorer who redshirted last year after transferring. Two 6'2" post coming in, and another guard from South Dakota. Mix that with a talented core of upperclasswomen, I think the Jacks will get past the first round of the NCAA tourney.

Men's Basketball: After a tough year last year, there is some hope. Now how much hope is the question. The coaches are impressed with the talent we are bringing in. A 6'10" post and a 6'7" forward. Nagy has to be on thin ice this year, but we'll see.

South Dakota State

This is for you Bluehat, You are a well respected level headed poster (I have seen some of your stuff at Bisonville.com too). I am impressed with the level of play that the xDSU's bring. NDSU beat us, You could very well have beat us, and You beat NDSU. Props.

Give us a taste over hear at Leathernecknation. Of course nothing like a scouting report (that would be silly0 just some friendly conjecture on what you think of your Jacks' and what you think of '08. Oh, and, welcome to the league.

(love your post's have'nt heard from you in a while consider this your welcome back).
