With Jackson getting close to passing Vicks in career points, I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on who they think is/was the better player. Vicks played when I went to school down there and I think he was probably the best player during the Kerwin era. I have not seen Jackson much, but I tend to lean towards Vicks. Jackson might be the better all around player, but Vicks I think is the better scorer. Also I think Vicks was a JUCO transfer and didn't play 4 years at Western like DJ. Anyway just something to hopefully get a lively debate going.

Vicks senior year was just before I walked the WIU campus as a freshman. I never saw him play a game. On the flipside, David Jackson's freshmen year was the season following my senior year. Kind of crazy. I was as in the middle as you can possibly get. I've seen Jackson play live a couple of times and on tv a bunch but cannot give you a good comparison. I guess the team around you would have a lot to do with who was actually better when their statistics are so close. I was wondering if anyone can remember the guard we had who was a three point specialist. His senior year was the 97-98 season, and I believe he hailed from the rochelle/dixon, IL area. All I can say was this guy had the smoothest touch on his outside shot that I've seen to this day. I watched him drain three after three during a pre game warm up...I don't remember him missing a single shot. If anyone can remember who I'm talking about and how much of a contributor he was I would appreciate it.

I think you're talking about Brandon Creason. He was a great three-point shooter and hard-nosed player. He played on some of Kerwin's better teams.

Thank you,

That is most definitely who I was thinking of. The name rung a bell immediately.
