Earlier there was a little talk on the ORU board about Mid-Con Championship sites etc.
Nothing was derogatory, but there was talk about the Baseball tourney and WIU not really being prepared for such a conference series. Does anyone know of any problems at the tourney? I'm sure attendance wasn't too good. Was there any administrative problems?

Keep in mind ORU strongly supports their Baseball program, and Tulsa certainly can add more than Macomb for players and fans. However, for future opportunities to host conference championships, any issues need to be addressed.

One time recently,WESTERN hosted the track and field championships at D3 Monmouth College's facilities. Is manpower an issue for these types of events.(volunteers)? If so, I would think a call for volunteers around the Macomb area would be well received. Area schools and booster clubs could pitch in.

It would be unfortunate, but the championships will probably be in the metro areas- for attendance and financial support. Maybe the financial support is the key.

orusports.com- under message boards- basketball- future of Summit League championships -
very bottom of page one, beginning of page two. Only a slight mention, but it does appear. Reference to WIU community being prepared. No other comments by anyone.
